Guiding you to the best hikes on La Gomera, Canary Islands, Spain

The Canary Islands are an amazing place to explore. They’re home to a beautiful landscape, and they have some of the best hiking trails in all of Spain. Here’s a list of some of the best hikes on La Gomera:

El Fuerte de San Miguel

El Fuerte de San Miguel La Gomera is a protected natural area located in the island of La Gomera and part of the Natural Park of Lanzarote. The park sits at an elevation of 1,650 m (5,420 ft.) above sea level and covers 1,700 hectares (4.8 sq mi). It’s also home to one of the tallest peaks in Europe: Mount Teide stands at 2,718 m (8,001 ft.). The park’s most famous feature is its giant lava dome called El Misti. It’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is considered the highest point on La Gomera.

The park’s hiking trails are popular with tourists who come to enjoy its scenic views and take in some sunbathing on its beaches. There are several different trails available for hikers to choose from: one that takes you around the volcano itself; another that takes you through some pretty cool forested areas.

Las Marinas

One of the most famous beaches in the country, featuring black sand and turquoise water. It’s also home to some of the best hiking trails in the area—and it’s only 45 minutes away from Gran Canaria International Airport! The hike to Las Marinas is a great way to get a view of the entire island of La Gomera. The hike is not difficult and will take about two hours roundtrip.

You can start this hike from the lighthouse at Cape San Antonio around 1pm. From here you can see all of La Gomera’s beaches and some of its volcanoes as well. You can also see El Teide, which is the tallest mountain in Spain at 2884 meters. It’s best to visit during the summer months because this hike takes place at higher elevations than other hikes on the island (about 3200ft). So make sure that you bring plenty of water with you!

El Cruce de Los Leones

Visit the most famous hiking spot in La Gomera. This spot is known as El Cruce de Los Leones and is located on the north side of El Teide volcano. It is a 2-hour hike that takes you to some great views and gives you a chance to see the Canarian countryside.

The hike begins at the parking lot for the La Gomera National Park. You can park there or you can park a little bit further down at El Cruce de los Leones parking lot. The hike will take about 2 hours and it is a fairly easy trail with some hills but not that steep at all. The trail is well marked so you should not get lost along the way!

The views are fantastic as soon as you reach the top where there are benches where you can sit and enjoy your coffee after all those stairs! You can also visit other points along this hike including Pico de las Torres (saddleback mountain) which has some great views of El Teide Volcano and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria which are both visible from here too!

La Gomera is a beautiful island in the Canary Islands. It’s a popular destination for families and backpackers, but there are also some amazing hikes to be found here. If you’re looking for an adventure that will give you the chance to see some amazing scenery, we’ve got you covered!
